The Little Flames

Debut single from 2005 from Liverpool band The Little Flames. Recently played a so called 'secret gig' with Arctic Monkeys at Leiceister University.

The first time I heard some of their demos, I instantly thought of Salad (the band that is) due to the singing style and their slightly awkward pop tunes.

Debut album The Day Is Not Today is out in June 2007.

And I almost forgot - the video for this and for their second single Put You Dukes Up, John is in the Video section.

Bromheads Jacket - Trip To The Golden Arches

Bromheads Jacket are based in Sheffield, England, but don't actually originate from there. I believe they were studying there, met and formed the band. But still they are mentioned as part of the Sheffield scene along bands like Reverend And The Makers, Milburn and Arctic Monkeys.

This song is from their debut album Dits From The Commuter Belt released late last year. If you are into heavy british accents and loud guitars then you might like this.

If I have to make some references to other bands then those would be early Wire, Buzzcocks and S*M*A*S*H.

Dits From The Commuter Belt is my favourite album of 2006.
